A SICK paedophile used his home to create vile child sex abuse videos.

Mark Oak, 45, made and distributed 5,700 indecent images of children and had 1,270 extreme images at his home in Hastings.

One video he made was 17 minutes long.

At Lewes Crown Court Oak was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for downloading the content and posting them back into the the dark web.

He admitted eight counts in total.

Oak, of Cloudesley Road, St Leonards, will also be a registered sex offender for life and was put under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely to restrict his access to children and computers.

Detective Constable Gary Baker said: “Our investigation started when we received intelligence that Oak had been accessing indecent images of children, including videos, from the Internet, and had made hundreds of them further available by online recirculation.

“We arrested him at an address at which he was then living in Hastings, and seized laptops and hard drives which were his personal property. Once we interviewed him and confronted him with the evidence he had little option but to admit what he had been systematically doing over a period of years.

“Each one of the images represents a child being abused and this was reflected in the court’s sentence.”

Police said Oak took images from the internet, and there was no evidence of local children being involved.
