As people will be spending a lot more time at home, they are being urged to make sure their fire alarms work.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to test their fire alarms and to get the whole family involved.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "If you haven’t already now is a good time to check your smoke alarm system and ensure everything is working.
"We will be spending a lot more time in our homes and this will increase the risk of accidental fires.
"Get your kids involved and press that button. You could also have your children draw a map of you home and work out best escape routes and mark exits on the map.
"Also ensure everyone knows what to do in the event of a fire and how to contact the emergency services.
"Please keep you and your love ones safe in these unprecedented times.
