THE Palace Pier has closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Remy Haudecoeur, F&B operations manager, told The Argus it had closed today.
In 120 years, this is only the second time the famous tourist attraction has closed.
The first time was for WW2.
A sign on the gates reads: “Stay safe Brighton and Hove. We’ll all be back together soon.”
Anne Ackord, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We hope that this situation will pass quickly as the effect on all tourism businesses in our city will be huge.
"Let’s look forward to the day when a stroll along the pier and a visit to our wonderful city is once again a pleasure to many."
