PETROL stations have urged customers not to panic buy as they insist fuel supplies are healthy despite the coronavirus outbreak.
A BP spokesman said the firm is planning for a range of potential scenarios as the pandemic progresses.
“We are confident in our ability, and the strength of our supply chain, to meet normal purchasing behaviour,“ he said.
“We would strongly discourage any form of panic buying.
“BP has robust business continuity plans in place and we are implementing several measures to keep supplying our customers with fuel safely.
“The situation is rapidly evolving and we are planning for a range of potential scenarios."
