NEIGHBOURS will belt out The Beatles and Bob Marley in a back-garden concert tonight to fight off coronavirus isolation.
Hove residents Pat Mountain and Mandy Wheeler will sing four classics from their shared Sackville Road garden from 7pm – and they hope others will join in.
“We’ve leafletted about 50 people so hopefully people will be singing from their windows,” said Pat.
“Obviously people are lonely self-isolating because so many live on their own.
“Then again I went out for a pint of milk this week and somebody said ‘I thought you oldie’s aren’t allowed out’.
“It’s just a nice little thing to do for people before we clap for the NHS at 8pm.
“Of course we’ll be observing social distancing in the garden.”
Pat and Mandy will first sing The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love and Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds.
Then the duo will tackle Van Morrison ballad Brown Eyed Girl before finishing with Dame Vera Lynn’s wartime classic We’ll Meet Again.
“Hopefully it’ll catch on and we can do it every Thursday,” Pat said.
“We’ll take requests if people want.”
