THE PRIME MINISTER’S job to spearhead the fight against coronavirus will be more “difficult” now that he has tested positive for the virus, the leader of Basingstoke council has said.
As previously reported, Boris Johnson tested positive for Covid-19 earlier today, and is now self-isolating at home in 10 Downing Street.
He says he will still continue to lead the fight against coronavirus.
Councillor Ken Rhatigan, said that it reminds people that this virus does not discriminate.
Speaking to the Gazette, Cllr Rhatigan said: “Unfortunately the Prime Minister is meeting a lot more people than the rest of the population.
“There are no no-go areas for this virus.
“Remote working is possible but the reality is that it won't be as easy for him as it has been in the past.
“It will make the job more complex and difficult."
