A COLLECTION box raising money for the city’s lifeboats has been broken into and emptied.
Devastated life-saving volunteers at the station in Brighton Marina found the raided collection box this morning.
Brighton Lifeboat Station provides 24/7 on call search and rescue service along the Sussex coastline between Newhaven and Shoreham.
The Brighton RNLI said: “Heartbroken to arrive at the station this morning to find our collection box had bene broken into and emptied.
“Our volunteers are working very hard at this difficult time to keep launching to rescue who needs us.
“This just makes it harder.”
The UK is currently on lockdown to try and curb the spread of coronavirus.
