A BINGO hall is offering hospital staff free spots in its disused car park amid the coronavirus crisis.
Buzz Bingo in Freshfield Way, Brighton, is allowing Royal Sussex County Hospital staff to park in its 100 bays left empty after it was forced to shut to stop the spread of the pandemic.
The club closed temporarily last week in line with Government advice coronavirus on the outbreak.
But the company said it wanted to make use of its facilities to benefit those who work on the front line. The car park will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The spaces will be provided free to NHS staff on a first come, first served basis.
Manager Darrell Sexton said: “We wanted to make the car park is available during this unprecedented time as NHS staff work tirelessly on a day-to-day basis and we wanted to help in easing at least one stress for them.
“We have many loyal, elderly customers and the NHS are taking fantastic measures to ensure they’re being taken care of. This is just a small thank you from us to them.”
- The coronavirus Sussex Crisis Fund has been set up to help those affected by the pandemic. The Argus’s charity and American Express have each donated £50,000 to kick-start the appeal. Grants will usually be for up to £5,000. More information is available at www.sussexgiving. org.uk/apply. To donate visit www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/sussexcrisisfund
