NEW Government figures show the death toll from coronavirus has gone past 2,000.
It has been reported that a further 563 patients have died, taking the total UK deaths to 2,232.
Experts say the virus rate will continue to double every three or four days.
The total number of confirmed cases in the UK rose to 29,474 as of 9am today.
It rose from a figure of more than 25,000 yesterday.
The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed that 2,232 people have died.
