THE number of coronavirus cases in Sussex leaped yesterday.
In the county, the number of cases climbed from 263 to 293.
Brighton and Hove cases increased from 44 to 49, meanwhile West Sussex saw a jump from 146 to 160.
There was also a leap in the number of people to have tested positive for coronavirus in East Sussex, increasing from 73 to 84.

This comes as the largest number of UK coronavirus deaths in 24 hours was announced.
Public Health England said that 563 people who had contracted the illness had died in the 24 hours leading up to 9am yesterday, taking the nation's overall death toll to 2,352.
There have now been 29,474 people who have tested positive for the virus.
