THEY have been popping up in the windows of homes across the city to help spread a bit of cheer.

The idea of painting rainbow pictures and putting them in the window spread quickly on social media after it was suggested it might brighten some people’s day.

Youngsters were encouraged to put pen to paper while staying at home to avoid the spread of coronavirus and displaying their pictures in the window. The idea was it would give other families something to look out for while they stretched their legs on their daily walk. The post, which has been shared across the web, aims to make a neighbourhood-wide game to find as many rainbows as possible. Rainbows of any size, design, or artistic ability are encouraged.

If you join in, send us pictures and we will include them in the paper and online. Laura Stephens from Lancing said: “We’ve been talking about why it’s important to stay at home and why the NHS staff are heroes. My daughter wants other people to know they are not alone in isolation.”
