A HOUSEBUILDER has donated more than 100 protective face masks to NHS staff at a hospital.

David Wilson Homes provided 106 masks to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

The high-specification face masks are usually used to protect builders from dust on construction sites.

Managing director Paul Kitchingman said: “In this time of need, it’s important that we continue to work together as a collective and support our NHS staff whilst they continue to be the heroes in this battle we’re facing.

“We want to encourage other businesses and individuals to use the resources they have and donate them where they can to support our community in fighting Covid-19.

“Team spirit is needed now more than ever before.”

Barratt Homes, the parent company of David Wilson Homes, announced last week it had temporarily closed its 400 sites and offices across the country, and stated that “the health and safety of customers and employees is our number one priority”.
