COUNCIL officers have been asked to volunteer for waste and bereavement services in a bid to bolster support for the public.
Brighton and Hove City Council is asking staff who can work flexibly to voluntarily transfer to services deemed a higher priority.
These include the Cityclean waste department, health and social care, and bereavement services.

A city council spokeswoman said volunteers would be trained in their new line of work.
"We anticipate that many more services will need additional support in the coming days," she said.
- The coronavirus Sussex Crisis Fund has been set up to help those affected by the pandemic. The Argus’s charity and American Express have each donated £50,000 to kick-start the appeal.
