A TEENAGER needed surgery after being slashed during a brawl outside a shop.
Police were called to reports of people fighting outside Good News newsagents in Cavendish Place, Eastbourne on Sunday.
A 19-year-old suffered a knife injury to his hand and need to go to hospital, police said.
Meanwhile a 34-year-old woman has been held on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.
Detective Constable Elliott Lander said: “This happened in a fairly busy part of Eastbourne town centre and we believe someone may have seen something that could assist with our investigation.
“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch”.
Witnesses should call 101 and quote reference 1162 of 05/04.
