A VIRAL WhatsApp message that claimed paramedics will not be coming to help coronavirus patients has been slammed by the ambulance service.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) branded the voice message, which was being shared through mobile phones, as “alarmist and incorrect”.

The circulated message featured a woman, who claimed she worked for the service, making a number of statements branded inaccurate by ambulance bosses.

She claimed the ambulance service would no longer be sending paramedics to treat people struggling to breathe “as of Thursday”.

The message also claimed that one third of deaths are going to be “babies, children and teenagers with no underlying health issues”, adding that mortuary in the UK is full.

The woman also said the government will be announcing there will be no daily exercise from next week.

Posting on Twitter, Secamb said: “We are aware of a voice message being shared currently on social media regarding the ambulance response to coronavirus.

“The alarmist information being shared in the message is not correct.

“We would urge people to disregard the message and not share it further.

“In line with our ongoing plans during this challenging time, we are continuing to follow national guidelines regarding the ambulance response and thank the public for their ongoing support in following the government’s advice.”
