POLICE called to disperse a house party were assaulted and threatened with infection by revellers.
Officers attending a property in Edgeland Terrace in Eastbourne at 9.45pm on Wednesday faced horrendous abuse from the partygoers.
They threatened to expose the officers to coronavirus by spitting at them and one officer suffered a head injury when he was assaulted.
Three women have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Bayleigh Meadows, 21, unemployed, of Lottbridge Drove in Eastbourne, was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
Millie Robinson, 21, unemployed, of Edgeland Terrace in Eastbourne, was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and affray.
They are both due to appear before magistrates tomorrow.
Nicole Stonestreet, 20, unemployed, of Seaside in Eastbourne, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and affray.
She has been released on bail until a later date.
