A DIY bike workshop that shut its doors as lockdown set in has decided to reopen.

Cranks in Chapel Street, Brighton, will now allow customers to enter the workshop one at a time.

Bike shops have been deemed essential services under the Government’s restrictions and do not have to close.

Cranks is now open on an appointment-only basis, and said it would be prioritising key workers if demand is high.

The company said it can help if you need to buy a bike or require simple repairs.

The Argus:

But it cautioned: “Please do not come to the workshop if you have coronavirus symptoms and please do not come to the workshop without booking an appointment first.

“We are booking one person at a time.

"Customers can come and look at our recycled bikes for sale or bring their bike in for basic repairs.

"We cannot do major overhauls at this time.”

The company accepts donations plus the cost of parts for repairs.
