A big thank you is due to The Argus who published a letter from me in February 1994. I was hoping to find ex-pupils from St Luke's School, Brighton, who were there with me during the wartime years (1939-44).

This was an immediate success which is still snowballing and I now have upwards of 200 expupils on my database. We are still meeting up regularly for dinners and lunch and we are invited to the school annually to be entertained by the children - an event which is enjoyed by us all.

It was therefore with enormous pride and satisfaction that I attended St Luke's on November 9 when one of the original members from the 1994 reunion, Tony Feeks, unveiled the restoration of the Lawrence Preston World War One mural which was brought about by his brilliant fundraising to the tune of £30,000, and supported largely by the generosity of ex-pupils.

Well done to The Argus and Tony and all my rediscovered friends.
