PIES are flying off the shelves after a firm’s online operation took off.
Andrew Bull and Graham Bell have been running the Tailormade Bakery and Kitchen in Newhaven for ten years.
But just after the Covid-19 lockdown, they launched an online delivery service, www.piesonline.uk.
Since it began, they have seen their turnover double week on week as customers clamber to get hold of a classic shortcrust treat.
Andrew said: “It’s incredible.

"We’ve always wanted to do delivery, but it’s never been the right time.
“It started after I heard a woman in a supermarket worrying she wouldn’t be able to get anything for dinner because there was nothing available.
"I told her we could get her a pie from the bakery – and it just went from there.
“We started delivering locally, and it spread on Facebook.
"Suddenly, we had people ordering pies from North Wales and Somerset.
“It’s just boomed.
"People seem to love the shortcrust pastry, the flaky top, and the home-made fillings.”
