AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a student.

Andras Feher, who was born in Budapest in Hungary and lived in Hove, was found dead at his home on March 23.

At Brighton Coroner’s Court on Monday, assistant coroner Catharine Palmer opened the inquest for Andras, who studied at the University of Sussex.

Ms Palmer said the 25-year-old’s mother had travelled from her home in Bristol to see him after becoming worried when she could not make contact. She found him deceased on the floor in his room and there was evidence of drug paraphernalia, the coroner said.

A provisional cause of death following a post mortem examination was given as heroin toxicity.

Ms Palmer said a full inquest will take place on October 6 at 10.30am, but added that all dates for future inquests are subject to change, because of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

She said: “To avoid a backlog of inquests, we will be setting up an extra court in the autumn, but I cannot say where that will be at this time. If we are in a position to move inquests forward, we will, and families and all interested persons will be notified.”
