A school was badly damaged by flooding after thieves stole lead from its roof.
Manor Hall Middle School in Southwick is closed today after overnight rain caused flooding in several classrooms and damaged its electricity supply.
Lead from the school's roof was reported stolen over the weekend.
Manor Hall First School is also closed because the school use the same electricity supply.
Firefighters from Shoreham were called just before 3am to help salvage equipment and reduce the effects of water damage.
The Middle School caters for about 350 pupils aged between eight and 12, while the First School has 200 pupils aged from five to eight.
A spokesman for West Sussex County Council confirmed both schools are closed this morning.
