A DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after police discovered an abandoned vehicle which had crashed into a hedge.

Police say the driver failed a roadside breath test after they returned to the scene of the abandoned car on the side of the A285 Duncton this morning.

A spokesman for Chichester Police said: "Great work by ESectionChi Response officers, who came across this vehicle on the A285 Duncton which had been involved in a single-vehicle RTC and abandoned.

The Argus:

"The driver returned to the scene and failed a roadside breath test.

"They were arrested on suspicion of drink-drive offence.

"The vehicle has been recovered and the road is open."
