NURSES will be granted free entry to one of the country’s finest gardens.

To coincide with yesterday’s International Nurses Day, West Dean Gardens near Chichester extended an invitation to NHS nurses and their colleagues to visit the award-winning gardens for free once they reopen.

West Dean featured on BBC Gardeners’ World last month where it was dubbed “one of the UK’s greatest gardens”.

NHS staff and their families will get free access for six months. Visit www.westdean.org.uk/gardens for details.

Alexander Barron, chief executive at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation said: “As we know from recent NHS research, the outdoors is key to everyone’s wellbeing, and we hope our beautiful gardens can be a space for NHS staff to escape to and experience some tranquility, whether it be for a stroll around the stunning walled gardens or a walk up to the arboretum.”
