POLICE uncovered a stash of drugs at a property after arresting a man “on suspicion of making threats to cause damage at a property elsewhere”.

Officers were called to an address in Manor Hall Road, Southwick, on Saturday afternoon.

Neighbours described seeing six police cars fill the street as the force dealt with the incident. They then said police returned on Sunday, along with a dog unit, as investigations continued.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “On Saturday afternoon local officers went to an address after a man had been arrested on suspicion of making threats to cause damage at a property elsewhere. A quantity of drugs, believed to be Ecstasy, and a quantity of cash were found at the address and were seized. A man, aged 28, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, money laundering and threats to damage property. A woman, aged 24, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and money laundering.”

He added: “After being interviewed both were released on police bail until 13 June while enquiries continue.”
