TWO men have been arrested after police were called to a residential street.
Sussex Police were called to an “altercation” between two men at about 5pm this afternoon in Whitehawk Road, Brighton.
The two men were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been taken to hospital where they remain under arrest.
Several police cars can be seen on the road, as well as a number of ambulances.
A spokesman for the force said residents in the area can expect a “heightened policed presence”.
The Sussex Police spokesman said: “We received a report of an altercation between two men in Whitehawk Road, Brighton, shortly after 5pm today.
“Officers attended and the two men were both arrested on suspicion of affray.
“They have been taken to hospital for treatment where they will remain under arrest.
“Residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area at this time.”
