ONE more coronavirus death has been reported in Sussex hospitals and there have now been 2,424 cases recorded in the county.

In the UK, 121 people died in the 24 hours leading up to 9am on Monday, compared with 118 casualties recorded the day before. The national death toll is now 36,914 and 261,184 people have tested positive for the virus in Britain.

There was one further death confirmed at hospital trusts in Sussex, bringing the total to 559.

One death was recorded at the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, bringing its total to 240.

No casualties were confirmed by the Western Sussex Hospitals Foundation Trust, where the total is 101.

There were no deaths at sites operated by the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which is responsible for the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. There have been 123 deaths at these hospitals.

There were no deaths at the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, and the total stands at 80, and no deaths recorded at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, where the total remains at 15.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sussex is 2,424. The West Sussex total is now 1,314, The Brighton and Hove total is 421, and the East Sussex total is 689.
