A MOTORIST was stopped while nearly four times the legal limit behind the wheel.
Gerard Dewar was driving a Mercedes when he was stopped by police in Balcombe Road, Crawley.
The 55-year-old was given a breath test, which gave a reading of 120 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres (ml) of breath. The limit is 35mcg per 100ml.
Dewar appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court where he admitted drink driving and also sexually touching a woman without her consent. He was given a 12-week suspended prison sentence, with 180 hours of unpaid work.
Magistrates also ordered Dewar, of Turners Hill Road, Worth, to pay £300 compensation.
He was banned for three years and must also pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs.
