CURRENTLY there are arguments about the opening of schools, one side says double the classrooms, double the teachers etc.

Others make the point of children being six feet apart while in the classrooms.

Having worked in a school in a minor role, you cannot keep small and young children apart, they want to play with their friends, they don’t fully understand and why should they?

I feel there is quite a simple answer at this time on a temporary basis.

Firstly, divide the class in half and so half the class goes to school in the mornings for one week, afternoons the following week.

Meanwhile the other half of the class does the opposite.

That way the pupils will be kept apart and you don’t need extra teachers, they will work as normal.

I know the children will lose schooling, but surely that is better than what is happening now, with parents tearing their hair out while trying to educate the children at home.

I know this works, as I did it for about eight months, when I was a young kid.

I didn’t get away by missing any schooling as we had homework set for the half of ‘“all day school” that wasn’t attended.

In later life I made quite a good living.

The reason I only did half-day school was the number of evacuees that also had to be educated.

There were 47 pupils in my class at normal times with just one teacher.

Halve the class and halve the school day as a temporarily measure. That is the answer at present.
