A BROADBAND company says thousands of people will soon have blistering internet speeds.
Virgin Media says 2,000 homes in Peacehaven have been connected to its ultrafast broadband network.
This will bring average speeds of 516Mbps, which will allow residents to download a standard HD film in less than a 90 seconds.
A 25GB console game can also be downloaded in seven minutes.
Hannah Wardale, regional director for south England at Virgin Media, said: “It is fantastic news for residents in
Peacehaven that we have finished our expansion and they can now access ultrafast broadband services.
“This digital boost for 2,000 additional premises will make it easier for residents to work, stream, shop, learn and much more, all online.”
Virgin Media has continued to expand its network during the coronavirus crisis as part of “project lightning”.
The company said it had been “able to connect new customers after implementing a range of measures to keep customers and staff safe, including supporting customers to install their own services and practicing social distancing”.
