I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped to man the Keep Worthing and Southlands Hospitals campaign information stalls at those during the past couple of months.
A sterling effort was put in by everyone who gave their time so willingly for a good cause.
My heartfelt thanks also to the management and staff at Haskins Garden Centre and Shoots Garden Centre who gave us permission to have a stall on their premises and looked after us so well.
A big thank you to all the members of public who took the time to fill in the response forms and postcards, including their personal reasons why they didn't want to see their hospitals downgraded in the reorganisation of local health services.
We managed to collect in a short time 11,000 responses and these were handed to John Wilderspin, of the West Sussex Primary Care Trust, on November 14, before the close of the consultation along with the petitions and letters collected by Kwash.
Let us all hope that the decisions made in the new year by the PCT will be made with common sense and consideration for patients, keeping health services available close to everyone who may need them.
