FOUR more coronavirus deaths have been reported in hospitals run by Sussex healthcare trusts.

This brings the total number of deaths in the county to 582 since the outbreak began.

The figures refer to hospital patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 and do not include care home deaths.

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust did not report any more fatalities and its total number remains at 132.

Two deaths were reported by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, bringing their total to 245.

The total for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust remained the same at 81.

Western Sussex Hospitals Foundation Trust also reported two new fatalities, and the total number stands at 109.

The figure for Sussex Community Foundation trust also remained the same at 15.

Nationally there were 111 further deaths, bringing the UK toll to 39,045.

There were 1,570 more cases confirmed, bringing the total number across the UK to 276,332.

One more case was reported in Brighton and Hove, with the total at 441.

One more case was confirmed in East Sussex, bringing the total to 717. Four more cases were confirmed in West Sussex, where the total is 1,329.
