PARK officers scrambled to reopen bowling greens after the Government gave them a day’s notice.
Six playing surfaces in Shoreham, Lancing, and Worthing are now all open for business after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on May 11 he would allow people to play the sport from May 13.
Yesterday Adur District Council health chief Councillor David Simmons praised park staff.
"It was a very quick and skillful turnaround," he said.
"That we were able to bring them back to playing standard so quickly is testament to the expertise and dedication of the team."
Worthing has hosted the Bowls World Championship twice.
