TWO people have been rescued by the coastguard after getting cut off by the tide.
Police had been searching for a man and a woman who were reported missing in Seven Sisters Country Park.
They were found trapped by rising water at Cuckmere Haven, and the Newhaven coastguard rescue team and lifeboat were called.
The pair were safely taken to shore in an inflatable lifeboat for a check over.
Newhaven Coastguard reminded beachgoers: “When exploring the coast always check local tides and as in this case always let someone know your location and estimated time of return.”
Daily local tides can be seen on page two of The Argus.
