AN ambulance service has thanked its volunteers for their ongoing commitment during the coronavirus crisis.
As this week marks Volunteers Week, South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) has highlighted the work of its team, including more than 400 community first responders (CFAs) across the region, who attend medical emergencies before an ambulance can get there.
Other volunteers include trust chaplains, governors and members of the public and patient involvement group.
Head of community engagement David Wells said: “Each and every volunteer, in whatever role they are in, provides an invaluable service.
“This dedication has been especially clear to see the last few challenging months.
“They should be very proud of their efforts and I would urge everyone to join us in thanking anyone who volunteers this Volunteers’ Week.”
