WITH hotel breaks not possible under lockdown, one luxury lodge is cooking up feasts to eat at home.
While The Grand hotel’s Cyan restaurant in Brighton has been shuttered under lockdown rules, executive chef Alan White has been cooking up new ideas.
Yesterday the historic hotel launched six new takeaway meals to tickle your tastebuds, from classic Sunday roasts to scrumptious afternoon tea.
But the headliner is its grill at home barbecue package for four, which includes Sussex sirloin steaks and Wagyu beef burgers from Trenchmore Farm in Horsham.
Marinated chicken and lamb koftas also feature, topped off with a refreshing selection of salads and antipasti.
Those fancying a mid-day feast can nosh on The Grand’s lunchtime picnic of savoury wraps, pastries, quiche, and sweet cakes. Just what’s needed after a long half-day at work.
The best catches from Sussex’s shores are served in the hotel’s seafood platter.
Oysters, crabs, cockles, and mussels, laid on a bed of ice, feature alongside homemade Marie Rose sauce and a freshly-baked baguette.
Those in the mood for cream tea will be pleased to hear The Grand’s take is on offer.
Having won the best afternoon tea award at the Bravo 2019 Restaurants Brighton ceremony, the hotel’s fruit scones, sweet cakes and savoury finger sandwiches will be sure to satisfy.
A choice of executive chef Mr White’s masterpieces are on offer in the dinner and dessert for two package, including vegan hash, whole-roasted sea bass and grilled lobster.
And top it all off, the hotel’s two-course Sunday lunch is available to deliver to your door, featuring a classic roast with all the trimmings and a choice of tasty desserts.
Customers can also order cocktails, wines and beers from the hotel’s bar.
A Grand spokesman said: “All menus, prices and collection details are available at grandbrighton.co.uk/takeaways.
“Orders can be made by phone on 07733700630 or via the online form found on the website.
“Orders will be ready to collect at a scheduled time from outside the main doors of The Grand Brighton hotel.”
