THERE have been no coronavirus deaths reported across the whole of Sussex in the 24 hours leading up to yesterday afternoon.

The total at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which is responsible for the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, remains at 136.

Sussex Community Foundation Trust still has a total of 17, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust remains at 247 deaths and the figures for Western Sussex Hospitals Foundation Trust remains at 109.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust also recorded no further deaths, meaning its total remains at 82.

However, the total number of confirmed cases in Brighton and Hove has risen by one.

This means there have now been 457 cases in the city since the outbreak began.

The East Sussex total remained at 729, while in West Sussex it is now 1,334, three more than the day before. This takes the whole Sussex total to 2,517.

Nationally, there have been 283,311 positive coronavirus tests, an increase of 1,650.

There have been 40,261 deaths of patients in all settings, an increase of 357 the day before.
