TWO Sussex celebrities proved popular with viewers as they made their debut on Celebrity Gogglebox.

TV presenter Zoe Ball and her son Woody Cook were watched by thousands across the UK as they settled on to their sofa in Sussex for a spot of telly.

The duo had both spoken of their excitement at joining the popular Channel Four show ahead of the airing of their first episode.

Radio Two DJ Zoe said she was “well chuffed” to be able to take part “alongside my boy”.

And it seemed fans of the programme were chuffed to have them, with many taking to Twitter to praise the pair’s TV watching credentials.

Bethany Foden said she “loved” the mother and son team on Gogglebox while another viewer said it was “so good to see Woody back on my TV screen”.

This is not the 19-year-old’s first foray into the world of television. Woody, whose father is Hove DJ Fatboy Slim, already has plenty of admirers from his time on another Channel Four programme - The Circle - in September last year.

The reality show with a twist sees contestants spend weeks living in an apartment block without meeting in person, only getting to know each other through a messaging app.

Though he did not win the show, Woody did make the final, with one fan saying: “I bet Woody’s parents are so proud of him, he’s such a genuinely lovely guy.”
