FIRE crews filled a road as a patient was extracted from a block of flats.
They joined police and ambulance crews in Benfield Way, Portslade, at about 6pm on Saturday.
A passerby described seeing fire crews transporting a person from the window of an upper floor of the block of flats to the ground.
The road was blocked as crews worked to extract them.
A spokesman for Sussex Police confirmed the force had been called to assist in managing the scene due to the large number of emergency vehicles in the road.
