A BLACK Lives Matter protest is due to be held today.
More than 1,000 protesters are due to meet at 1pm outside Brighton Palace Pier.
Organisers say they will be gathering along the closed Madeira Drive and are aiming to form a full line to the Marina.
People looking to attend should be respectful of social distancing, say organisers, and should wear black to distinguish themselves from beachgoers.
A Black Lives Matter organiser said: “We are legally not allowed to gather at all so there will be no shouting or chanting.

“I need to again stress this is a peaceful silent protest where we stand in solidarity.
“We will assemble from the sea life centre, along Madeira Drive, towards the marina.
“Do not approach anyone for hugs chats or anything.. just walk along the line until you find a spot.
“We will be stationed along the line with walkie talkies, so we can try to ensure distance and stop the beach goers from approaching you.
“Each person is responsible for joining the line-up safely, respecting the 2m distance of every single other person in and around the line-up.”
