CAMPAIGNERS behind a bid to prevent a primary school from becoming an academy are celebrating their first anniversary.
Hands Off Moulsecoomb Primary school have been fighting plans to make the school in The Highway, Brighton, from becoming an academy after an “inadequate” Ofsted report.
On Thursday, they are asking supporters to post pictures on Facebook and Twitter of people holding up signs in support of the cause.
An organiser said: “On Thursday it will have been one year since our Hands Off Moulsecoomb Primary School campaign was launched with a public meeting in the school hall attended by around 100 people. One year later and we’re still not an academy school. Let’s remind the Government we’re still here, still ready to fight against this decision and we won’t stop until the order has been revoked.”
