A MAN has been charged on suspicion of attempted robbery after an incident at a convenience store.
Police were called to the Kwik Mart in Copthorne Bank near Crawley on Saturday.
It was reported a suspect had gone into the shop and demanded cash, but left empty-handed when a shopkeeper shouted for help.
A man was then held nearby as officers arrived.
Nayib Pailos, 33, a chef, of Copthorne Common, was later charged with assault with intent to commit robbery and possession of a bladed article, namely a pair of scissors, in a public place.
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 15) and was remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on July 13
