A RESCUE mission was launched after a man became trapped in boulders on a beach.

A large emergency response including police, fire, ambulance and coastguard crews were called to the seafront off Ham Road in Worthing this evening to assist the man.

Pictures from the scene show a stretcher being brought over to a section of rock armour on the beach.

Emergency services then worked together to free the man.
