UNIVERSITY of Bolton students graduating this summer and worried about their job prospects because of the covid-19 pandemic are being offered the chance to take a Master’s degree at a much lower cost than usual.

All final year undergraduates, both UK and international, will have the opportunity to access the‘Career Development Master’s Degree’ programmes from September to develop their knowledge and expertise and enhance their career development.

The programmes are designed to enhance the knowledge and skills that employers value, such as team-working, problem solving and effective communication.

Professor George E Holmes, President and Vice Chancellor, said: “There has never been a better time to upskill, to enhance your development and increase your chances of gaining the best employment opportunities.”

To help graduates take advantage of these Master’s degree programmes, the university has launched a bursary scheme, which reduces the cost of the courses by thousands of pounds.

Bursaries and scholarships from £2,400 to £3,000 will be offered to home/EU students who are graduating this summer. International graduates will be offered up to £6,000 to match the fees of home students.

Professor Holmes added: “The difficulty for students graduating from all universities this year will be one of securing graduate employment given the economic downturn."

This Master’s bursary programme will provide students with a stronger CV, higher-level learning outcomes."
