A LORRY fire at an industrial estate is being treated as a suspected arson.

Fire crews were called to the Bolney Grange Business Park off the A23 at Hickstead late last week.

Teams from Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath were joined by a fire officer, and had to force entry into the vehicle in order to tackle the blaze.

Crews used thermal imaging cameras and dry powder to stop the fire returning after dowsing the lorry with hose reels and water jets.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the first crew arrived at the scene at 11.45pm on Friday, and the teams left the scene at 2am.

Following the incident, it was revealed that the blaze is being treated as a possible arson attack.

Police Inspector Darren Taylor said: “Lorry on fire at Bolney Industrial park late last night. We are treating it as a possible arson.

“Our colleagues from West Sussex Fire attended.
