A PEOPLE carrier ploughed through the side of a nursery destroying a walls.

The Vauxhall Zafira careered through a colourful fence before smashing into the brick building in Park Road, Burgess Hill.

Two women, both wearing white dresses with bold flowers on them, climbed out of the car and made off from the scene, Sussex Police said.

They left behind a scene of destruction.

A large hole was left in the side of the nursery while a dislodged window had fallen on to the Zafira’s bonnet.

Bricks and debris lay scattered around the front of the car, which was partly inside the building.

The nursery was closed at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Sussex Police are now trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, which happened shortly before 2pm on June 13.

This includes identifying the two women who fled the scene.

A police spokesman said: “Anyone with dash cam, CCTV or video footage which could assist in identifying the two women involved, is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 734 of 13/06.”
