PEOPLE or groups will always take advantage of a crisis.

Brighton and Hove City Council are dominated by Labour and the Green parties.

The coronavirus lockdown is being used flagrantly to impose drastic changes upon the city.

The Greens have openly supported and encouraged new age travellers.

Yet the travelling community make no contribution to the city’s finances.

Indeed, the damage they inflict upon areas and the rubbish left behind has to be cleared at public expense.

Travellers are quite happy to take advantage of facilities paid for by taxpayers.

Yet motorists are flagrantly persecuted.

The council has used the current crisis to create more cycle lanes.

Madeira Drive has been closed to vehicles yet cyclists still ride on pavements.

There is now talk of events like the Brighton Speed Trials being abandoned.

Events like these are vital to the economy of the city.

The Extinction Rebellion lobby backed by the Greens and elements within the Labour Party seem hell bent on banning motor vehicles.

The effect on the economy will be catastrophic.

As we emerge from lockdown the economy both nationally and locally must be encouraged.
