Beach closures are in place this week as works are taking place.
Beachgoers wanting to make the most of the hot weather will not be able to access Lyme Regis sandy beach and much of the shingle beach today (Wednesday).
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Town Council said: "Dorset Council has informed us of beach closures this week due to re-grading and re-profiling works.
"The sandy beach is closed while they re-grade the sand as the profile is too high. It will remain closed until 5pm on Friday.
"Around 60 per cent of the shingle bleach is closed as there is a bulldozer re-grading the pebbles as part of the coastal defences. This work will take place today and is likely to continue tomorrow.
"However, the pumping of the sand from the harbour entrance onto the sandy beach is due to finish today."
