A MASKED burglar hurdled a gate and used a brick to smash his way into a rugby club.
Police were called about the incident at Uckfield Rugby Club at Nevill Road at 5am on May 28.
The man broke the glass on the clubhouse exit door, then went straight upstairs to rifle through the till behind the bar. He smashed the till screen and fled with the drawer.
The draw was empty, and no cash was inside, police said, because the club had been shut since March because of coronavirus.
He ran across the pitch towards Mitchelham Road. PC Rebecca Walter appealed for witnesses to come forward, quoting 254 of 28/05.
