A KILLER’S former girlfriend was due to appear in court accused of telling lies over evidence in the case.
Jenny Johnson was the former partner of Russell Bishop, who murdered schoolgirls Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway in Wild Park in 1986.
The 54-year-old, of Saunders Park View, Brighton, was due to appear in court today accused of perjury by making a false statement, and perverting the course of justice.
She is accused of making the false statement about a blue Pinto sweatshirt linked to Russell Bishop by saying it did not belong to him and that she had never seen it before.
Johnson was due to appear in a video link hearing but technical problems meant it could not go ahead at Lewes Crown Court.
It is understood she intends to plead not guilty to both charges.
A trial might take place in March next year.
