A MOTORCYCLIST has died after suffering serious injuries in a crash.

The 74-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a Vauxhall Astra on the B2028 Turners Hill Road near Crawley Down last night.

The driver of the car, a 72-year-old man from Crawley, suffered minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving, and remains in police custody at this stage.

Police are now appealing for witnesses of the crash, which happened shortly before 9pm.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dash cam footage which captured the incident or the events leading up to it, is urged to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Bavian.”
